Treasure Cay

The beach at Treasure Cay is rated as one of the 10 best in the world and it is easy to see why - beautiful turquoise water and soft white sand - stunning.

We arrived on Wednesday to a marina basin that is normally full of boats on mooring balls. Many of these moorings were destroyed in the hurricane and so we anchored instead, not wanting to take a chance on a mooring that hasn’t been maintained. Right now there are only 7 boats here.

Checking the anchor:

The Bahama Beach resort has been partially restored and has a nice pool that we are able to use.

Unfortunately the marina was completely destroyed and there is only one dock left to tie up dingys and small motorboats.

These villas look abandoned and will likely be sold for the land - prime beachfront.

In spite of all this, there are tourists here and hopefully rebuilding will continue and bring back much needed revenue to all of the Abacos.

It rained all afternoon yesterday and will be again today, so we will stay one more day before moving on again.
