Hope Town
We arrived here on Monday with our mooring right in front of the iconic Elbow Cay lighthouse. The lighthouse was built between 1836 - 1887 and is still in operation. You can climb the circular staircase to the top and it’s free with donations encouraged to help with maintenance costs.
You can see our boat at the bottom of the picture:
Some great 360 degree views:
Look at the reflection of the light:
We are also able to use the facilities at the marina since the mooring ball is owned by them.
Hopetown is a charming town with pretty houses and gardens:
The effects of Dorian can be seen here too unfortunately. This was a lovely restaurant and pool overlooking the beach:
This land has been sold and will be redeveloped for rental cottages. There is lots of rebuilding going on around town. We plan to stay for another few days and explore more of the island and wait for the next weather window.
