Farewell Hope Town
We have had a busy week here, but tomorrow the weather is telling us it is time to move on. We had a diver “Brown Tip” (that’s his nickname) come on Wednesday to scrape and clean the bottom of the boat. After being in warm water for 4 months, all sorts of green stuff grows on the bottom and slows the boat down!
The following day, the four of us rented a golf cart so we could see more of Elbow Cay.
The first stop was Tahiti Beach for a swim.
Gunter and Steve will do anything for a beer!
The floating bar is parked at the mooring field here at night and travels to the beach during the day.
Lunch was at “On Da Beach” at the Turtle Hill Resort.
That evening we took the golf cart for a dinner out.
On Friday Gunter and I decided to take the ferry to Marsh Harbor to go to the bank, buy wine and groceries (bigger store and more selection there). It was a fast ride!
The past couple of days hav been cooler (22) with much less humidity do it has been nice to get some long walks in.
We never got to this restaurant, but check out the kid’s menu.
Vernon’s store - a very eccentric man but he had fresh baked bread and cinnamon buns.
This derelict boat had a tree growing in it,
Can’t get enough of the colour of the ocean - will miss this when we are back on Lake Ontario.
On to the next destination!
