Little Farmer’s Cay

We left Lee Stocking Island in the morning and had a lovely sail in flat seas in the Exuma Sound.

At Little Farmer’s Cay we crossed over to the Bahamas Bank side of the Exumas through some very shallow water - it was low tide and once we got through we anchored on that side. Had a short dingy ride to town. Lots of roosters run wild here  and they cockadoodledo all the time, not just in the morning.

Many Bahamian women and some men weave baskets from the palms growing on the islands. These crafts are one of the few things you can buy that are actually made by the locals so it is well worth it to support them.

Another stunning sunset but unfortunately a very rolly night with the wind from the northwest and the waves rolling in and out with the tides. In the morning we decided to move a few miles north to Little Bay.This anchorage is protected from north and east winds which we are expecting as another front moves in on the weekend. We will stay until the front has passed by.
