Drama in the Harbour

 It started off as a quiet morning - we waved goodbye to Steve and Lise who decided to go to Conception Island for a couple of days, returning on Saturday. We watched some young boys sailing in their dingy;

I baked some muffins for a mid-morning snack - some burnt bottoms as a propane stove does not heat consistently.

Then I looked behind us and asked Gunter if he remembered a catamaran being that close. Suddenly we realized that it was dragging (the anchor had let go) and was drifting straight towards us on a collision course. The owners were not on board but someone radioed the community as to what was happening and within a minute a flotilla of dingys arrived to fend the boat away from us - at one point there was only a dingy between us and the catamaran.

The owners were found, arrived, raised their anchor and reset it with a lot more chain.

What an amazing community of boaters! Whew - now we could relax and carry on our day. Doesn’t this rock look like a lion or cat?

At the end of the day - a rainbow with no rain and a beautiful pink cloud at sunset.

  1. I remember Gunter rescuing another sailboat dragging... while the captain had abandoned his crew for some fishing with Steve..
