The End of Our 2022 Trip

Sun Spirit is back at our home marina in Green Cove Springs. The last couple of days of the journey were fairly uneventful - thank goodness as we have had enough drama this year. In St. Augustine we had an electrician come to check our batteries. He and his wife and son have lived on their boat full time for 10 years - anchored in the St. Augustine area. We had the feeling that they do this not for the lifestyle (although they do like it) but more for financial reasons - no rent or mortgage - just boat repairs and upkeep. You see a lot of liveaboards in Florida for this reason. By the time the gentleman came the tide was going down so we had to wait for it to come up before he was able to tow us off what we think was a sandbar. By that time (7 pm) it was too late to make it to our planned destination. Luckily there was a spot we could anchor close by, so we did, had dinner and went to bed. We arrived in St.Augustine this morning and we were able to arrange for an electrician to come and look at our batteries which we think are not quite charging the way they should. We’ll stay tomorrow and then head out on Thursday to th...
